More than 200 Cambodian Workers Arrested by Thai Authorities

BATTAMBANG: More than 200 Cambodian workers were arrested by Thai authorities and sent back to Cambodia on Monday , 17 January 2022.

The commander of the 819th Border Guard Battalion, Colonel Mansy has said that the O'Anlok police force, in cooperation with the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and the medical team had received a total of more than 200 Cambodian workers sent by the Thai side through O'Anlok checkpoit, located in Ta Sen commune, Kamrieng district of Battambang province.

He has said that a total of 230 Cambodian workers, including 86 women and 49 children, were tested by doctors quickly for Covid 19, all of them had a negative results.

Out of a total of 230 Cambodian workers, 64 women and 44 children, have received vaccination cards and were allowed to return to their hometowns after being instructed by doctors to prevent Covid-19 infection. The remaining 44 are not yet vaccinated, 22 women and 5 children were sent to the quarantine center at Kilo 9, Sampov Loun district.
